A storyboard links what the audience hears to what they see. For a short video, choose one takeaway and make each shot earn its place. A smaller idea you can demonstrate is often easier to finish than a broad promise supported only by narration.

Use your own footage, approved material and realistic production constraints. The prompts produce planning documents, not finished videos or predictions about an algorithm. Check the destination platform’s current requirements and review rights to any music, footage or images you intend to use.

Start with this workflow.

  1. Choose a filmable promise

Name one takeaway and the action or evidence that will show it. Remove claims you cannot demonstrate.

  2. Plan shots and words together

Write what is visible, what is said and why the shot belongs. Keep the first version within your actual equipment and time.

  3. Review the rough cut

Watch it with and without sound, check the claims and revise where the sequence becomes confusing or unnecessarily repetitive.

WORKED EXAMPLE

Show a small task from start to finish

Illustrative example: a creator demonstrates how they turn a messy desk into a ready-to-use study space.

STARTING POINTTell viewers the routine will change their life, then show unrelated desk footage.

AFTER CHECKINGShot 1: show the actual clutter and ask where the next study session will start. Shot 2: sort loose items into a tray. Shot 3: place the notebook and materials for the chosen topic. Shot 4: show the finished space and the first task ready to begin.

What changed
The sequence shows a concrete task and its result. It does not need an unsupported claim about productivity.

Make your own working brief.

Viewer and takeaway: Demonstration I can show: Shot / visible action / spoken line / caption: Approximate timing to test: Assets and permissions: Audio and framing checks: Claim review: Final next step:
